The Living Room Gets a Guest Room: HONBAY’s New Altus and Vora Modular Sleeper Sectionals Turn the Couch Into a Bed

Cloud-soft cushions, washable covers and hidden storage anchor the brand’s fall lineup, led by the Opua, a bestseller on HONBAY’s website

Ontario, California, Oct. 29, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The holidays bring a familiar scene to many American homes: relatives arrive for the weekend, kids pile onto the couch for a movie, the dog claims the best cushion, and someone needs a place to sleep. HONBAY, an online home furnishings brand built on the idea that a home should feel like a haven without a premium price tag, says one answer is a sofa that changes shape.

This week, HONBAY put its bestselling Opua Corduroy Cloud Sleeper Sectional at the center of its fall lineup, introduced two new models, the Altus and the Vora, and opened its Black Friday and Cyber Monday sale at honbaymall.com. The sale offers up to 70% off sitewide and runs from Oct. 29 through Nov. 30.

Furniture that keeps up with real life

HONBAY began by selling its sofas through online marketplaces before opening its own store at honbaymall.com. The brand designs for households whose lives change often, whether that means hosting guests, growing a family or sharing the couch with pets, and that thinking shows up across its lineup: modular pieces that can be rearranged as needs change, covers that come off and go in the wash, and storage built into the furniture. Customer feedback has also shaped what it makes, including its focus on soft grey tones and sofas with hidden storage.

The bestseller: a modular sofa that becomes a bed

The Opua is built from modular pieces, including single seats, a loveseat, an ottoman, a corner seat and armrests, that can be rearranged into an L-shape, a U-shape or a sofa bed. The same set can serve as everyday family seating, a movie-night lounge or a guest bed when company stays over.

Built-in compartments in the seats and ottoman give blankets, pillows and everyday clutter a place to go, which helps keep the room tidy. Multi-layered cushions filled with plush cotton and foam are paired with a multi-backrest design, and the backrests tilt from 90 to 135 degrees, so a seat can move from upright for conversation to reclined for movie night. The armrests can be placed in a range of positions.

The Opua comes in corduroy in green, beige, blue and gray, plus a blue velvet option. Green is the best-selling color. The fabric is soft, pet-friendly and washable, and the sofa ships as separate modules, which makes it easier to move into the room and rearrange later.

New for the season: the Altus and the Vora

Joining the Opua is the Altus Corduroy Cloud Sleeper Sectional, available in two styles, Oversized and Cozy. It is a mix-and-match design that can fit different rooms, layouts and moods. Deep, plush cushions and a lumbar pillow are meant to keep people supported through long evenings on the couch. The ottoman lifts open to reveal hidden storage, and the fabric covers unzip and are machine washable, a feature aimed at pet owners and families with children.

The Vora Cloud Modular Sleeper Sectional combines extra-deep seating with a sink-in, cloud-like feel and a relaxed, modern look. Plush cushions provide support, while pet-friendly upholstery and removable, washable covers are designed for everyday family use.

More ways to build a living room that works harder

The lineup also includes the Cala, a two-seater chenille sofa bed with hidden storage for blankets, pillows and off-season clothes. The Cala converts from sofa to bed in seconds, has a 500-pound-rated frame and meets U.S. furniture safety standards. It comes in ivory, charcoal gray and olive green.
